Join our beginner lesson, we can teach anyone; complete novice or even if you've had a snowboard lesson before. If you think you have no coronation, our instructors are very patient and very experienced. We have taught all sorts, from large Lucy's to nervous Nigel's so you have no excuses. These lessons are full of fun activities that provide a safe learning curve to get you turning smoothly down blue and green runs.
In our beginner classes you will be looking to tackle the basics. We've listed the basics below in the standard technical jargon;
- Introduction to Snowsports environment and equipment
- Straight running
- Side slipping
- Diagonal side slipping
- Foot Steering (pedalling)
- Basic C Turn
A brief outline of these techniques;
Straight Running
Holding a straight line in a balanced posture on the snowboard on the base of the board.
Side Slipping
Controlling the board on its edge.
Diagonal side slipping
Controlling the board and moving across the slope.
Foot Steering (pedalling)
Letting the board come of its edge on to the base of the board and the controlling it back on to it's edge.
Basic C Turn
Turning the board from one edge to the other in a C shape.
